Howard,

Good point. SNDK said in their 10Q:

"Currently, all of our flash memory, controller wafers and flash memory products are produced overseas by FlashVision, Renesas, Samsung, Toshiba, Tower and UMC. We also use third-party subcontractors in Taiwan, China and Japan for the assembly and testing of some of our card and component products."

The third party subcontractors are the ones you pointed out in your earlier post. "We also rely on third-party subcontractors for our wafer testing, packaged memory final testing, card assembly and card testing, including Silicon Precision Industries Co., Ltd. and United Test Center, Inc. in Taiwan and Celestica, Inc. and Flextronics in China. "

It is curious that SNDK just didn't say which subcontractor they were using on a turnkey basis. I tend to think it isn't much as a percentage of their total output, but I could be wrong.

I still don't have a real feeling for market share of the top 4 card makers.

Steve
