Being with like minded people in a church certainly is a major draw. I belonged to a church whose national leadership became increasingly apostate for the last, maybe 40 years. After repeated encouragement to alter its ways, the leadership said "forget it, we're in charge here" and snubbed the more orthodox minority. So a group of about 140 from the church I attended simply incorporated a new church, affiliated with an international group that has it right, and left. This relatively new international group is planting a new church in the Americas at the rate of one every 6 or 7 weeks. There is no mention of politics from the pulpit. We study scripture...as it should be.
