Alighieri, re:The fear factor is a tool the NRA uses quite effectively to oppose any form of gun control regulation The anti-gun orgs do the same and more, by making false claims that people like you who don't know the difference between full/semi auto or gun shows etc work up into a frenzy over things they don't understand. re:I can't imagine an organization that today has reached political power able to change the landscape of elections, going from assenting to common sense, responsible controls to being subjected to confiscation by goverment. It's just not credible. Think about the Patriot Act on steroids. Even when I disagree with the ACLU - I know they are trying to defend freedom, same for the NRA - these are our rights as defined by the Bill of Rights they are defending them from the only force that can take them away - our own government. Ask the English hunter about gradualism toward the ban.
