If the litigation is unresolved, Bain et al. would be paying $6B for what ....

In the same way that SanDisk, before being acquired by WD, had plenty of value outside the JVs, so does Toshiba. So my interpretation is that the $6B buys the portion of Toshiba's business that buys processed NAND wafers from the JVs and sells raw NAND and NAND-based products. Plus the portion of production that Toshiba bought from SanDisk years ago and apparently still holds outside the JVs. And maybe some other non-NAND memory interests too.

I did some looking around earlier to see if Toshiba had ever described just what was placed into TMC when it was spun off but did not find anything useful. I'd appreciate a link if anyone finds something.
