It reduces pollution because you get a better burn on the gas which helps to offset the lower energy of ethanol. BTW, next Memorial Day when the cars are going 200 miles per hour at the Indy 500, they are running 100% corn alcohol. Condensation in tanks used to put water in gas which caused clogged fuel lines and frozen fuel lines in cold areas. The alcohol absorbs the water, takes it through the filter, and it gets turned to steam in your engine. <<It takes more energy to produce and ship ethanol than the ethanol is worth, i.e., it's production is a net energy consumer.>> Nope, it does cost more to produce than gasoline but it's just a big version of a still like the moon shiners use. You can use corn cobs to distill the alcohol off the mash and feed the left over mash to the hogs.
