Chemical Exchange Pays Off
(05/23/01, 8:00 p.m. ET) By Tim Wilson, InternetWeek
ChemConnect Inc., which operates the World Chemical Exchange, has issued a report that states that its member companies are experiencing an average return on investment of 1000 percent when purchasing goods via the e-marketplace. Buyers are saving an average of 5 to 25 percent over market prices, and negotiation time has been reduced by 50 percent, according to ChemConnect officials. The ROI calculations, which are based on cost savings over previous purchases of the same items, suggest that companies are improving their purchasing processes as well as getting lower prices by using the e-marketplace, the officials said.
