There seem to be a couple of important pieces of this article, evidently from an Omaha paper (thanks for posting it...)

...This $6 billion Fortune 500 company only seems to be moving the corp hdq and 100 executives and their support staff to work on the East Coast....

Most of the other several hundred employees in Omaha will stay and either work for CPQ or ICO, and not move from Omaha....

As stated from an earlier article, ICO will retain the use of assets for THREE years.... and most importantly, IMO is:

For Omaha, the Compaq sale should not mean a job loss in Omaha, he said. "I believe this is a positive thing for Inacom as a company, for Inacom's employees and Omaha. All three will be much healthier as a result of this (Compaq) transaction.

"Would you rather have a depressed company located in Omaha or a company that is flourishing and growing?"
