Rough year, one winner and the only fellow
in the green--that's something else.

Eight years running is not too bad--plenty of ideas
on SI haven't persisted year after year. I'll be
sure to get my check in the mail just as soon
as I can, and congratulations to you!

I hope there is someone willing to take this up in '09.
For the life of me I don't know what I'll choose next
go around, probably cannot do any worse than my showing
this time--I'm guessing I did at least -50%, what is my
number anyway Bulba, did I capture last place?

A few things I've followed for a decade now might not
even make it into the new year. I've had to watch the
demise of Targeted Genetics, that is sad. I think a
pretty honest effort in a nearly impossible niche.
I'll have to discover some new outfits and give them a whirl
(although not with real money these days).

My real world return for 2008 is about nil--which really isn't
so bad, losing a little to inflation and a weak dollar, that
I can stomach. Plenty to be grateful for in a rough year for
many--especially those working in biotechnology at what
has to be getting closer to the bottom of the latest boom-bust
cycle.
