People are using/buying them instead of bonds and other fixed income instruments that have paid little or no yield for 8 years or more... I have to admit, I've been looking at ECCZ -- started by looking at ECC, but then got sidetracked... still weighing trade-offs of common vs. pfds vs. bonds/debt in taxable and/or tax advantaged accts.
