I do think that's at the heart of all this.


In any good marriage that would have to be the heart of it. If the main thought is "how much is his/her economic contribution worth, its unlikely the marriage will be worthwhile for either partner.

Yes, while assigning an economic value for what someone would get paid in 680 hours a week is unreasonable, it is true that many "stay at home moms" do a lot of work, that would be expensive to pay other people to do.

Certainly my Mom (mother of 11) would agree with you.
