Sorry for the delay Bearded One.

I cant say too much on this issue but I have looked into this Enetwork DS that IBM is now putting into the market. It has some enterprise class software components but is a very immature solution and IMO not a very geographically scaleable solution. It has definately stirred up some dust between the two companies. I think the other areas of IBM will look at this newly marketed DS product from this small group within IBM, but the current and future IBM/Novell NDS developments will still continue.

There are a couple meetings/conferences where IBM and Novell key staff on DS will be in attendance. I think this issue will be cleared up throughout January.

The group within IBM that is promoting the DS is a small group and I think they will have real difficulty getting the other IBM groups to rally around this Enetwork DS, much less the industry. Based on the relative immaturity of this DS solution compared to NDS, I dont think many major industry vendors will throw their hat into the IBM DS ring.

This is my opinion.
