Trey, Joe Nocera did a piece late August on the analysts who cover Intel. He focused primarly on Kurlak, Mark Edelstone and Drew Peck, although the real ordnance was dropped on Rob Chaplinky @ H&Q (there was a photo of him in there accompanied by a quote that you just have to see to believe...it's tragically funny).

I hear you. I got into the MUTL's when it hit 59 1/4 and after I closed them out I wanted to take a shower (and of course, to be honest, a couple of days later I wanted to drown myself in my tub, as I closed them out before he downed MU...Agghh! <g>). IMHO it was that obvious what was happening.

Then again, in the words of Leonard Cohen:

there is no decent place to stand in a massacre

It's hilarious that ML is apparently courting H&Q in what looks like recognition of the fact that it's presence in tech underwriting is abysmally below what it should be.

Hey gang, the problem in tech underwriting ain't where your Bay Area offices are located.

I'd argue that perhaps one part of the problem is that fact that IMHO no good management team in their right minds would want the hassle of having to deal a sector timing ego-machine. I wouldn't.

Good trading,

Tom
