From your link: "Moore supervised the design of AMD's next-generation, high-performance x86 core, code-named Bulldozer, until mid-December when he transitioned into full time work rallying support for new software. "The core design is going along well, well enough to let me roll off to take on this broader initiative," said Moore."

Under ordinary circumstances, when does the person who
"supervised" a new core roll off onto other work? When
the micro-architecture is defined? When it tapes out?
When it boots its first OS?

Does this mean that (a) Bulldozer really is going well
(the bull case), or (b) Moore was effectively fired
from supervisory duties and has been transferred over
to a job where he can do little harm (the bear case)?

Anyone know anything about Moore? Other insights?
