OT: A Big move: InfoSpace selects ChinaBiG as partner

(13 September 2000) U.S.-based InfoSpace, which provides wireless equipment, businesses and Web sites with information and commercial infrastructure services, recently said it is moving into the Chinese market. The company announced jointly with ChinaBiG that they will together offer online and wireless business information services to Chinese customers.

Under their partnership agreement, ChinaBiG will take advantage of Infospace’s technological edge in the areas of Internet and wireless transmissions in its efforts to provide its Chinese customers with world-class information services and to make shopping, communications and business information searches much more convenient.

For its part, InfoSpace will use ChinaBiG as its medium in providing China and Chinese communities around the world with comprehensive Chinese-language information services, the Aug. 31 Jingji Cankao Bao (Economic Information Daily) reported.

ChinaBiG’s Web site specializes in offering Chinese-language Yellow Pages information. It currently is the Chinese Internet industry’s only Web site to specialize in the three following areas: online Yellow Pages business consultations, the development of printed Yellow Pages, and wireless communications and the dissemination of applied information.
