ted, have you ever seen pics of Islamorada (Middle keys, FL) after the Labor Day Hurricane 1935? One of three cat 5 hurricanes only ever to hit the US so far? Mind that same Hurricane was fully unpredicted and hit right on almost from a blue sky on a sunny day. It also removed much of the Key West railway only finished back in 1912. I guess you have seen "Key Largo", the movie. It was filmed down there 2-3 years later, still a perfect background for such a movie then. They showed photos of the 1930's hurricane as well as the one in Galveston at the turn of the century when thousands lost their lives. Looks like NO escaped the worst of it which is good news. ted
