DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 1999-- Interphase Corporation (Nasdaq:INPH - news), an international supplier of enterprise networking technologies, today announced a worldwide, multi-year purchasing agreement which establishes the company as a preferred supplier for Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT - news).
Under the agreement, Interphase joins a select group of companies with pre-approved supplier status, helping to streamline the ordering process and to ensure that Lockheed Martin's customers receive the highest quality products available.
``Our preferred suppliers undergo a rigorous evaluation process which looks at criteria including competitive pricing, product and service quality, technology roadmaps and future directions, as well as overall management strength,' said Jon Rambeau, subcontracts project manager for Lockheed Martin. ``We concluded from our competitive vendor analysis that Interphase was in a strong position to meet our requirements for data communications connectivity.'
As part of the agreement, Lockheed Martin's engineering and procurement personnel will have direct access to Interphase product specifications and pricing via a special Web site established specifically for the Interphase/Lockheed Martin supplier relationship. This customized site provides worldwide access to the latest information on the entire line of Interphase communications products, including the popular PowerSAN(TM) Fibre Channel adapter and the award-winning ENTIA(TM) line of WAN communications controllers.
``This new agreement builds on the substantial success of our existing work with Lockheed Martin and demonstrates our commitment to develop significant, lasting business relationships with premier technology companies,' said Greg Kalush, Interphase president and CEO. ``We are excited about this enhanced partnership and look forward to capitalizing on the opportunities for global information services in the defense and commercial sectors serviced by Lockheed Martin.'
Interphase has partnered with Lockheed Martin on a number of programs, including high profile defense projects such as the AEGIS Weapons System and The Advanced Tomahawk Weapon Control System (ATWCS).
