Lehman's comment on the Shasta acquisition: "We believe the addition of Shasta now offers Nortel an opportunity to offer service providers the ability to individually tailor the level of service to small, medium, and large enterprises. Service providers in provisioning varying classes of services to their customers can than charge each customer accordingly. We note that as opposed to most currently available extranet switches and routers with built in VPN functionality, Shasta's product allows the service provider the ability to dynamically alter its value added services in a high density unit."
