If his views were "distorted" by editing, then he better start making some "public" statements repudiating or at least explaining those views.

It's EASY to see why Obama joined that church in the first place, he was in Chicago politics and he wanted some "Black Credibility". His first run in National politics was for Congress in a black district. He got voted into the Illinois Legislature from a black district.

When he got the opportunity to give the speech at the Convention he probably figured it was too late to suddenly switch to a more moderate church. He wasn't thinking about "youtube" at the time.

I think he was "speaking to the choir" in his Big speech. People that liked him before still like him, people that hated him before still hate him. It's the Independents and other swing voters he now has to worry about. If he gets CRUSHED by Clinton in Pennsylvania then I think the Democratic Party is going to start having some serious worries.

To me Obama has always seemed like a "Created" candidate. He was black, he looked good, he sounded good AND he actually gave a speech (while he was in a state legislature) condemning the Iraq War. He's the Democratic version of Mitt Romney and Reverend Wright may end up being the equivalent of Romney's Mormon Church.
