Left Wing Bloggers Hung out to Dry by Dems going on Fox News
Fox News, hated by the leftwing fringe, trumps leftwing nutroots.

Pity poor Markos Moulitsas, founder of the Daily Kos empire and liberal blogdoms most celebrated and recognizable face. Actually, if we do pity him, it will be more compassion than he showed 4 brave American contractors who were killed in Fallujah back in 2004 and hung from a bridge by an angry crowd. Kos famously said "Screw 'em" for being "mercenaries" for Bush's war.
For more than a year, the online, self titled "Netroots" community of liberals has tried to force all elected Democrats to avoid Fox News laughably believing it is a Republican mouthpiece. Well, it appears that the Democratic party is now facing the reality that Fox draws more viewers than any other cable news outlet and that they are shooting themselves in the foot by boycotting its very popular set of news shows.
Predictably, this has generated outrage among the netnuts. How dare the party sully its hands by going on Fox News! Who cares about getting more votes than the Republicans in the fall? Better to lose and remain pure than give in to politics and go on Fox.
Also predictably, the gimlet eyed professional pols in the Democratic party are ignoring the bloggers and fighting for every vote they can get by going on Fox News:
The Democratic leaders' new openness to Fox reflects the liberal left's diminishing power, at least at this point in the political cycle. Once feared by the Democratic candidates, these activists are now viewed at least in part as an impediment to winning the broad swatch of support needed to clinch the nomination.
Goaded in part by a taunting "Obama Watch" clock displayed by Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace, Obama appeared last Sunday after resisting the show's entreaties throughout the campaign.
Clinton had a civil interview on Wednesday night with primetime host Bill O'Reilly, who has often mocked her husband.
And Dean will appear this weekend on "Fox News Sunday."
Early in this presidential race, John Edwards led the Democratic candidates in what amounted to a Fox boycott. Edwards appeared on Fox 33 times between August 2000 and January 2007, the month after he announced his campaign, and has never been back.
Roger Ailes, the president of Fox News, took the boycott in stride, commenting that more Democrats watch Fox than watch CNN or MSNBC, the channel's cable news competitors.
Compare the attitude of party regulars toward the online liberal community today with how they pandered to them last September at the YearlyKos confab. Every single Democratic candidate for president appeared in a forum at the convention.
