BrooklynDave, You said >>>>>>"My question is does BRCM fit the criteria of Gorilla? I own some at 74.00 and am thinking about buying some more. "<<<<<<

Sorry it's taking me so long to get back to you. I've been on vacation for a week. I believe that it is too early in BRCM's marketplace to name a gorilla. BRCM makes broadband chips for cable modems and sells to nearly all the cable modem manufacturers. Their chip technology for broadband is said to be superior, but there remains many potential competitors in this newly developing chip marketplace. Because BRCM is emerging as the leader, I see a place for it in my portfolio. But this marketplace has not yet established enough history to name a gorilla, in my opinion. Therefore it best fits the Watch and Wait portfolio of potential gorillas.

This domain should not be neglected however for the explosive gains that can accrue to those companies that become gorillas or kings. Certainly the marketplace for broadband chips is about to explode. At this point however, it's too soon to say that one company owns the standards.

IMHO,
Tom
