OT:UK taxes
John, Vendit was probably right about the 70%. If I look at my pay statement, about 40 - 50% goes in taxes each month, total (If you sum all the various ones together). So, if you figure that just about everything else carries a 17.5% tax, then that is 57.5 - 67.5% ... close to enough to 70%, especially if you add in the other charges not taken directly from your pay. Council tax, water etc..

Now, if you worked it out the same way for the US, what would the comparable figure be? BTW, The UK is much better off than most European countries from what I understand.
Though this may just be propoganda by our govt.
