I don't mean to sound and to come off so harsh. But we have tended to try and let Americans who believe and vote Republican off the hook through various disclaimers and excuses on their behalf and rationalizations that "conservatives" in their millions, upon tens of millions, are being hoodwinked and misled and misinformed. At what point do we no longer buy that? At what point do we hold these people accountable over the damage that is being wrought. We are past the point where democracy is being "unknowingly" eroded. Given the recent Supreme Court rulings, the confrontation between armed right-wingers and the BLM in Nevada, the unbelievable harshness of rhetoric from the right.... well - each of us is free to fill in the blanks of where we head from here. To me - the dangers to the United States democratic political system are continuing to ratchet upward. This is not even remotely where I thought we'd be as a nation when I voted for Obama when he first ran.
