Class action lawsuit filed against Nokia for allegedly defective screens

LOS ANGELES—A U.S. law firm has filed a class action lawsuit against Nokia Corp. in a California Superior Court alleging several of the company’s popular mobile phone models included a defective screen that the company knew about but did not fix.

Nokia was not immediately available for comment.

The suit covers Nokia’s 3200, 5100, 6100 and 8200 model phones. It alleges a defect in the phones caused the phone displays to fade or disappear, and that Nokia knew about the defect since 1998.

The suit follows several previous lawsuits containing similar allegations.
