Okay.....I just spent 45 minutes with Helen going through most of the FTEL operation here in Westlake...like someone said....she is extremely nice and forthcoming with information. She took me
through the entire area there...currently taking over more office space (doubling space) in one building and taking over more space for assembly in a neighboring building. There is a lot of activity going on... cables and equipment everywehere...I was shown the four main products./...but Tempest is the big one...I was able to talk to someone on the phone, relayed through a Tempest, to hear the voice quality...It was good, especially considering the long distance call was the price of a local one....World Com backbone is a big deal....but first they want to service US....will be setting up Tempest call centers in many places across the US as the calls need to go through these.....The Tempest assembly is simple enough...the boards are domestically produced....they were burning in several as we walked through the area. I was favorably impressed with everything....This place is less than 2 miles from my house...walking distance from the Hyatt.....GTE dug up the neighborhood and put cables into FTEL, into something that I wasn't clear on....all at GTE expense...that you can find out in FEB. FNET is the service provider for the internet and is also right there...watch out for the ipo as right now FNET is a company called Futurenet...a little company in Santa Clarita that has nothing to do with FTEL. Helen says they will try to do something about the ticker later....have to go to soccer practice...but thought I should report back...

I'm back for a little while here....In answer to your question...yes I do consider FTEL to be very good for my kids....I more than doubled my small stake today....Cat...as for the GTE cable....I don't want to be provocative and cause unsubstantiated speculation but your guess is as good as mine....FTEL does have some agreements with GTE already....but Helen was not too specific about this refrigerator size piece of hardware that had those large cables are coming out of it.....all put in at GTE expense. FNET will run long distance service over the PC. Tempest can be used from your regular phone....no need to have internet service for that.....I felt very good about the meeting...

Subj: call back feature
By: ybn53

Helen mentioned a callback feature....the calls coming here from Europe are more expensive than here to there...they have a feature that will record the incoming call (caller ID type) without a pick up on this end, the call will be returned back...all in split seconds of time....

Folks, nothing beats seeing the place. This says it all.
