I think you should wake up. People worked on the field know much more than you on this thread about the cost of a sub $1000 pcs. As to how much CPQ made on each sub $1000 pc
, it is a decision up to CPQ, but its cost is not changed. So your point is CPQ made $30 on each sub $1000 pcs if the retail price is $1000, then CPQ will lose $150 if the sub pcs drop
to $800 as reported .The same for IBM, HWP, they all sell sub PCs to lose money big time ,
am I correct ??????
Dell is the most vulnerable stock among the big four, its advantage is its distribution model
and web sales, but that is not technology advantage and it is easy to be caught up, CPQ, IBM, HWP can easily implement the same systems. I do not know when that happen, i.e DELL lost its cost advantage, what DELL will offer to compete ??????????? Probably
Mr. Dell can give you an answer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
