I don't have a clear signal on CIEN. One thing you could do is something I picked up from somebody about a year ago. Get the quarterly EPS number going back as far as you can get them. Take the most current quarter and add it to the prior 3, for a total of 4 quarters. Note that number. Then go back one quarter and calculate the same number, (that quarter added to the prior 3) then the quarter before, and so on. Chart the results. What you get is a "smoothed" EPS graph. If you see a clear divergence (up or down) you may see a play. Remember that there could be slight errors depending upon whether or not the number is "per diluted share" or not. You can get the info here probably, (Tim found this and told me about it)

Somebody told me that the Bloomberg machine has a function where you can pull up this graph on any stock, but I can't confirm that. If you have access to a Bloomberg, which I don't, you could check it out.
