There is little difference between "comparable" disk subsystems. High performance SCSI drivers can be purchased.
The so called high performance SCSI drivers would certainly show up on the TPC Benchmarks. (The TPC benchmarks show SUNW at a distinct disadvantage! The TPC-H benchmark has queries that search 95 % of the database.) The low performance drivers would hit the processors which you have already said in your applications do not make a difference since they are underutilized.

You boys are shooting yourselves in your feet with this dazzling display of technical expertise. <G>

So Dog and you have blown holes in your own argument.
If SUNW's disk subsystems are so much better they would do better on the benchmarks than the other companies. They do not.
