Ted, Did you also think the improvements to the levees was unnecessary?

Until Katrina hit, I didn't even know New Orleans was six feet below sea level, much less consider the possibility of a Cat5 hurricane coming to the city.


Just for the record.......not all of NO is under sea level and it did not get hit by a CAT 5 hurricane. It was a CAT 4 and it wasn't a direct hit at all.

All I know is that the muck water is in New Orleans now. Pump it out. Let's worry about the environment and the second-guessing later.

I would like to be glib as you about E coli but I just can't.
