Somehow my ignore button isn't working.

It is not comical when scientists are spending good years of their research lives trying to tease out the biological vulnerabilities. It is not useless information. And it does not give people a "scientific reason to kill themselves"--what a bizarre unkempt thought.

It can give people hope that there are tools to help.

For instance, I think antidepressants are overprescribed in general, but there are some lives that they have saved. I've seen brains at the Harvard Brain Bank--they are structurally/biologically different depending on the disease. There are 30% less receptors of a certain type in manic-depression, for instance. All this is meaningful information.
