I use to be a Diamond investor (before it's immense price crash) and I can see the logic on why one could make money off of Diamond but there are a few problems.

For the long term, they have a serious problem in the 3d card arena. The 2d accelerator market is an area which Diamond is a leader in however their Diamond Edge 3d is a very weak contender in the 3d field, which will be the main video card market of the not so far off future (possibly fall this year).

I can see their stock is at a nice ripe price for purchasing now but at the same time, they have no breakthrough products which could prove to be a big problem with profits.

They still haven't solved their main problems with the Diamond Edge 3d:

- almost no software support.
- software support that is there is not using the 3d functions to their full potential and Diamond is not providing any training or encouragement to software developers to utilize the Edge 3d properly.
- no development of soundblaster or any type of emulation sound software for DOS applications.

As far as I know, Diamond's main forte is video cards and they aren't off to the best start in the 3d video card battlefield.
