It is morning and the dream of the night before puzzles her sleep- clouded mind. Why were the cats devils, and who was the little girl with devil's voice and pink painted lips? Why did the cats multiply, and bite her, and why does she still dream of alcohol and food as unconquerable foes after all these years?
