MDU Communications Inc. Announces
Agreement With Hilton Hotel
RICHMOND, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 1999--MDU
Communications Inc. (OTC BB:MDTV - news) has entered into an agreement with
the brand new Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel.
This agreement secures MDU Communications Inc. as the exclusive provider of a state
of the art digital television system and high speed guest internet service.
''Hilton Vancouver Airport will be the first hotel in Canada to be ''wired'' for the 21st
Century'', says Tim Mashford, General Manager of the new Vancouver property.
When the Hilton opens in June 1999, guests will experience greatly enhanced television
picture and sound quality, a wide array of programming choices, and the ability to
connect to high speed internet service from the comfort of their rooms. It is a coming of
age for hotels in Canada which historically could only offer basic cable services through
a local operator. MDU Communications helps launch the Canadian hotel industry into
a new era with digital technology which marks the advent of true competition to the
monopoly service providers of the past.
The new Hilton Vancouver Airport offers 237 exceptional quality suites for the
business traveler. In addition to the excellent entertainment and internet service that is
provided through MDU Communications, the Hilton has also entered into an
agreement with On Command, for their high quality pay-per-view movie services. The
agreement with MDU Communications adds significant value to the four star, full
service Hilton Hotel and compliments the outstanding guest facilities in the
hotel which include tennis courts, spa, fitness centre, outdoor pool, restaurant, lounge
and a full service business centre.
