Nothing became of the manual. As I explained earlier, the manual had been tossed in a tree as a result of a break in to Jim's car -- in October, well prior to the murder. Did the New Haven police investigate this before they announced to the media they had found a "potentially important piece of evidence"? No! Was there any blood on the manual or Suzanne's fingerprints, or something that would have made it evidence? No! As you have pointed out, this piece of totally worthless information made headlines in all the papers and on the local news. How much more inept can a police force be? How much more inept can a newspaper be that puts such lunacy in a headline?

Now we have this big speculation about how cat hair found on Suzanne's clothing could be a big break in the case. Assuming they find the matching cat, please explain to me how this will help solve the murder. Is there such a thing as "fresh" cat hair? In other words, is it possible to prove the cat hair in question could only have been deposited on her clothing at the time of the murder? Ridiculous. That hair could have been there for ages. Even dry cleaning doesn't always remove cat hairs.

Like I said, unless they can prove the cat had only met Suzanne that night, the identity of the owner is meaningless. How do you go about looking for mysterious cat owners? Do police routinely save and catalogue animal hair they find on people they arrest, you know, just in case?

Once again, Jim is now and was not then a cat owner.
