I am a developer too, I know Internet programming, I used to work for a well-known telcommunication company. I got out that company three months ago. There is no money which can be made out of Internet, the company is close to bk because the MS-Internet is free!!!!!!!!!!! Do not eat any MS lunch, look at Novel and Borland! AOL will survive, because it will provide info which you can't get from anywhere else.
