Just saw some news out on HWYM (Highwaymaster). SBC Communications is pumping in $20 million. I took a look at HWYM, and guess what? It's the local twin of AVIC!

HWYM has the grand goal of signing up 10,000 mobile customers next year. So does AVIC.

HWYM is losing millions. Investors aren't concerned, because the value of the infrastructure will pay off for years. Therefore, profits for AVIC should likewise not be a huge concern right now.

HWYM has 22 million shares out. AVIC has just under 30 million out (half of which are owned by the Chinese, which helps the float).

HWYM closed on Friday at $14.50- and it'll probably be up today with the SBC Comm deal. Yep, AVIC is a $20 stock.

One reservation: The Wall Street Journal article mentioned earlier stated that for some tele firms doing business in the PRC, the infrastructure investments revert to the Chinese government after a period of time. If so, this makes AVIC fairly different from HWYM. I will research this info with AVIC and post my findings.
