Exactly. Talk about the king having no clothes. If, and they should be!, decision theory were applied to our pollution problems, and fuel prices our leaders would be taking a completely different course.

The first thing one does in decision theory is to identify the problem. Then one sets up goals, objectives and methedology to acheive the solution to the problem.

The huge difference between Obama and McCain is that Obama talks in terms of goals, objectives and methodology (constrained by the public's disinterest in often necessary esoteria).

But when elected Obama will insitute that CORRECT approach to problem solving.

McCain, HONESTLY, just talks. He says whatever he feels is politically necessary. His ideals are scattered and imbued with some neuortic need for power and I think a fairly imaginary reality, like Bush's reality.

Obama has a clear picture of where he wants to go. And it is a humanitarian path, but he carries a gun on his shoulder if attacked by irrational forces.

I really believe Obama has satisfied Abraham maslow's ideal of a self actualized man. This means he will govern according to the logic he can find and always coat it with compassion.

That is what character is. George Washington and Lincoln had that kind of character. That is why we lionize them today.
