Good luck trying to find a record of permanent reserves before 2000, it was hard enough digging up the data I used for my chart. Unless there are more like us out there that track these things. They don't make it easy to track.

Yes, I agree. Without the Fed interference the market would find the price of money and the adjustments would be constant and incremental. But instead we have big jerky adjustments, market participants watching the Fed for clues and the end result is the amplitude and frequency of the wave is increased. This is the exact opposite of their intent.
