Question to the lawyers on the thread: if the CA supreme court can discover a constitutional right to gay marriage under the equal protection clause, what prevents them from discovering a constitutional right to polygamous marriage under the freedom of religion clause? Since we've established that the existing laws and the stated will of Californians don't count for much.
