I don't think Obama can take a joke

Obama's game is to run as a populist - but one with an "above the frey" messianic aura. That's an unhealthy stance. The only way to be above politics is to marginalize those with opposing views. I'm not sure Obama understands this.

Obama dumped a life long friend - Rev. Wright - merely for calling him a "politician". What was so terrible about what Wright said? Wright said much worse things, as we all know, but that was not enough for Obama to disown him. How come being called "just" a politician was so bad? Apparently, because it threatened the element of "mystery" - and the implied hope for surprise, for "change" - which are the crucial foundation of Obama's presidential quest. If he is just another run of the mill Politico -- all the excitement may go away.

As voters in a democratic system we should be wary of "saviour" politicians. If Obama wants to be President, let him run on his positions, on his ability and on his record. He should not throw life long friends under the bus for calling him a "politician". He should desire to be a politician, and a good one. If that were the case, he would NOT be afraid to take a joke.
