The Valence fiscal 1998 year ends March 31, 1998. That is, the first calender quarter of 1998 is the fourth quarter of their 1998 fiscal year. The second quarter of calender 1998 (ending June 30) is the first quarter of Valence's 1999 fiscal year.

The way to remember it is this: their 1998 fiscal year is almost over before our 1998 calender year has hardly begun!
