Gee, who woulda thunk it? Now it's actually a GOOD THING(tm) not to be the business machine of choice.

My accountant called this morning and told me that there is currently an allowance in this tax year for computer hardware expenditures allowing a 100% writeoff for purchases made towards Y2K compliance. I plan to pick up a new B&W G3.

I'm a Canadian - is there similar allowances currently available for US businesses? I sort of assumed that Y2K would fuel some sort of upgrade fever to move boxes and software into compliance - but there seems to be a wait and see signal from the box makers. Guess they want to wait and see what breaks...
