Interview:
Roelandts says that they make programmable electric devices, to do certain logic functions normally achieved by specially manufactured chips.
Most of their products go into the communications sector. They are not a specialty chip manufacturer, they focus on general chips. 75-80% of business is in the communications sector (Internet infrastructure to wireless, etc.) and about 20% is in the high-end computing sector.
XLNX communications sector is not doing well, it’s in a recession, with bad news from customers.
IBM partnership is going very well, expecting first product to be introduced later this year.
They have not seen any improvements yet. They expect to see a slowdown of the negative momentum in the September Q, due to new products. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
