US support for Israel predates the extent of wealth built up by Jews. The Jewish homeland has received the support of Americans, opinion polls, politiicians of both parties, liberals, conservatives, with higher percentages than most Presidential victors. It has withstood attacks by reasoned opponents as well as hate filled bigots, some of whom populate these threads. I suspect that the moral component is more opinion in driving American public opinion than the Jewish dollar sign.
