Yah, that and the 'Governor Moonbeam' moniker that Royko hung on him. Too bad. I remember reading that one of his first acts as governor was to shutter the mansion to save money; he lived in an apartment. He got rid of the chauffeured limo, and drove his own car, as I remember. Fiscal responsibility starting with the politician. Imagine that. More and more qualified (mostly business-oriented) candidates are shying away from running for government posts because of the lunatic way we run things. I can only imagine what a Warren Buffett would do as President...
