Surely stock prices have a bearing on whether your predictions about those very prices are right or wrong. For instance, you predict "bad things." That doesn't have much meaning in the context of investments if you're not going to "judge whether [you're] right or wrong based on the stock price of ... ANY of [your] investments."

Or do you take solace in being right in some metaphysical sense?
