My guess is you have never watched even a whole show of his....
if you had you wouldn't have said that.

His message is/was wrong in this instance ..

I think the media does the general public a disservice with
regard to the current/coming energy crisis when they constantly
slam the suppliers instead of looking at the demand side
of the equation .. I feel we're very near a geologic maximum production
for conventional crude; yet the market continues to demand more supply ..
This is unsustainable in the long run ..
Increased production from newly developed fields isn't sufficient to offset
the depletion rates of the existing super giant fields ..

All the figures I've seen indicate
that nearly every field/region currently producing more than
1 million barrels per day is and has been in decline ..

The only choices going forward are going to be to adjust
to an ever decreasing supply of gasoline/diesel/home heating
oil/propane/jet fuel/ etc etc by conservation, efficiency
improvements and fuel switching .. I'm sure we'll try
everything on the backside of the crude depletion
curve to try to maintain business as usual;
biofuels, CTL, GTL, and electric ..

This is a very big deal for the future
of 6.5 billion bipedal primates and
we need to get it right ..
