Favor for India

In the long and turbulent history of US-India relations, this has to rank as one of the most strident pro-India moves made by the US, i.e., specifically target two terrorist camps in Afghanistan whose specific mission was to terrorize India citizens in Kashmir. The Indian Home Minister just a short 3 months ago was painted as being maniacal for having said that India willpursue terrorists across the border. That statement was dismissed by the State Department as dangerous and provocative. Of course, thats exactly what the US did for India and just shows how quickly geopolitics can change. Is this the quid pro quo for India's signing of the CTBT that will figure in the India-US talks later this week? The Indian government has not been vociferous in its support for the US military actions(although reports have it that the Indian PM has tacitly agreed with the US move) because they of all nations do not want to invite additional terrorist actions that would inevitably result from a strong Indian endorsement. But I believe that the US action has struck strong and resonant chord among the Indians."</i?
