Sorry, I didn't mean to be a dick, but my sensitivity meter is still not adjusted properly. I got the impression that you were saying, "nice presentation, too bad you forgot all about digitalvideo tape." There may be a hybrid device which couples a high resolution CCD with both a digital camcorder format (tape drive) and a still photo/digital camera function (flash card). Conversely, a few digital cameras are currently capable of both recording both .jpg and short .mpg (with audio) clips on removable media. It appears as if the territories are becoming somewhat blurred. As far as digital cameras go, please consider that an empty CompactFlash (the defacto tuckunder garage) slot is available to OEM's for something like $1.50 per unit. I don't believe they are compelled to add a digital tape drive for reasons of device size (people want a camera they can put in a purse or pocket), power consumption, and cost (OEM cost in this instance). I feel the same way about rotating disc drives that shift the burden of cost onto the consumer... A CompactFlash bay at $1.50 per device is hard to beat, in fact, you can't beat it with a stick. Aus
