$50/barrel oil???

It seems the general sentiment of the thread over the past year or so has been that while oil is likely to increase in price over time it is not likely to inflate dramatically. Yet we have long time expert oil geologists such as Colin Campbell (in The Coming Oil Crisis, a great read), predicting a major, permanent, shortfall in the supply of oil.

For the sake of discussion let's assume the views expressed at the Hubbert Peak site are correct. With that as a given I'd like to hear folks opinions on how it will likely affect our drillers and fabs over the next decade and what other opportunities for investment will result.
