It's possible, I suppose. I still don't see why it should be verboten to mention RFK, even if it does remind people that untoward events can happen in a campaign. It's a plain historical fact. If Obama is so far gone in the racial-grievance-mongering mode that his only possible reaction is to get hysterical over it, well that says something about him.

Suppose he had remained cool and didn't mention it, and only in response to a reporter's question had said, "well it was an unfortunate reference and I for one do not think she was trying to suggest anything," which would rather imply the opposite. Wouldn't that look cool and in control? How does he look now?

Obama is a talented minor-leaguer who was rushed to the majors too soon. He is losing his cool under pressure. And without cool, he ain't got nothin.
